John A. Piette

John Piette, age 59, died suddenly at his home early on Thursday, January 12, 2006. John was born September 6, 1946 in Appleton, the son of Aurelia (Hill) Piette of Appleton and the late Stanley “Dan” Piette. On May 25, 1968, John married the former Barbara Van Nuland in Kimberly; she survives. John spent his entire working career in the commercial construction field. He traveled the entire country managing countless major projects. In 2003, he and his son started their own development company, Platinum Property Development. Though work required his nearly constant attention, he did enjoy fishing, especially his annual September trip with Barb to Lake Winnibagosh in Minnesota. His grandchildren were the apples of his eye, and he enjoyed spending time with them just being “Buppa.” John is survived by his wife: Barbara Piette of Kimberly; his mother: Aurelia Piette of Appleton; two children: Lori (Dave) Vannett of Menasha and their son Jacob; and Jeff (Sarah) Piette of Kaukauna and their children Allison and Emily; a sister: Sharon Piette of Milwaukee; two brothers: Bruce (Sandy) Piette of Black Creek and Bill (Robin) Piette of South Milwaukee; two brothers-in-law: Tom (Pat) Van Nuland of Combined Locks and Jerry Van Nuland of Appleton; a sister-in-law: Mary Kay (Bill) Kaufman of Neenah; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, as well as by Barb’s parents Antone and Marie (Ver Voort) Van Nuland.

The funeral liturgy for John will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH – KIMBERLY, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the hour of the service.
