Zwiers, Johanna

Johanna Zwiers, age 94, of Kimberly, died Tuesday morning, March 28, 2006. She was born June 30, 1911, to the late Bernhard and Auguste (Hengstermann) Schmitz, in Dingden, Germany, where she was raised and educated. She moved to the United States in 1963 and married Arnold M. Zwiers in 1964. Johanna became a U. S. Citizen in 1969. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, Kimberly. Survivors included five step-children, Nadine Verhagen, Kimberly; Robert Zwiers, Kimberly; Linda (Don) Opsteen, Kaukauna; Pam (Don) Romensko, Kimberly; Linda Zwiers, Combined Locks; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Benno Hartmann, her second husband, Arnold M. Zwiers, a step-daughter, Zada (Jim) Siebers, her step-son, Vance Zwiers, a step-daughter-in-law, Corrine Zwiers and a step-son-in-law, Gerald Verhagen. The funeral liturgy for Johanna will be held at 12:00 pm, Thursday, March 30, 2006, at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH, 600 East Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, with Father Tom Pomeroy officiating. Burial will be in Holy Name Cemetery, Kimberly. Friends may call at the church on Thursday, from 11:00 am, until the time of the mass. A memorial fund is being established.
