Joanne C. Price

May 4, 1953 — June 28, 2024

Appleton

Joanne Cecelia Price, 71, passed away peacefully at home, on June 28, 2024 surrounded by her family and pets after a long illness.

She was born May 4, 1953 at St Elizabeth's Hospital in Appleton Wisconsin. She called Appleton home for most of her life and loved living there and talking about the changes she'd seen and how the community grew. She LOVED sewing and creating things in her incredibly overstocked room dedicated to what she jokingly called her disease, almost always with a cup of coffee in her hand.

She enjoyed volunteering at Leaven and Loaves and Fishes in Appleton, where she could follow her other passion, which was cooking. She truly enjoyed her time in the kitchen, especially making desserts. She was a big Milwaukee Brewer fan, but was known to turn off the radio after her "crush" Bob Uecker signed off towards the end of the game. She also enjoyed board games, more specifically Scrabble, where her vast vocabulary, honed by many hours of reading and her prior career as a newspaper reporter came in handy.

Joanne is survived by her husband Richard Price and 3 children, David Sattler of Combined Locks, Marie (Jason) Soule of Appleton and Jason (Amanda) Sattler of Fond du Lac. She was preceded in death by her youngest son William (Susan) Sattler.

Joanne spent as much time as possible with her 10 grandchildren, Angela, Anthony, Kenna, Stephen, Ethan, David, the twins Morgan and Rylee, Katie, and Ellie and great grand daughter Raelynn.

She was the eldest daughter of John and Josephine (Brumm) Stephens, who preceded her in death.

Joanne is survived by her siblings Margaret (Bruce) Campbell of St Paul MN, Gloria Stephens of Manchester, England, John (Debra) Stephens of Madison, Anne Skaggs of Appleton and Charles (Lydia) Stephens of Madison, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins from around the world.

Her many friends will miss her greatly as well, the list is long but definitely not limited to Cheryl Krueger, Darlene Anderson, and Ava Abendroth.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.
