Age 65, loving mother, auntie, and friend passed away on Friday, April 23, 2004, at her home. Joanne was born on September 24, 1938, in Appleton to the late Harold and Zelda (Kasper) Halverson. She was united in marriage to Ralph Nett in Kaukauna in 1955. For many years she was employed as a surgical technician at St. Elizabeth Hospital and Appleton Medical Center, retiring in 2003. Joanne owned and operated Nettie Coat Junction tavern and was also part owner of Comfort Years Assisted Living in Appleton. She enjoyed many hobbies, including sewing, crafts, paintings, and camping with her nephews and nieces. Joanne had a great love for German shepherd dogs and her kitty Molly. She traveled all over the world with her dear life long friends from the hospital. Joanne will be missed by all that knew her. Survivors include her three daughters, Catherine (Richard) Ehrgott, Neenah; Susan (Harry) Brown, Germany; Jennifer (Donald) Bushman, Neenah; her four sons, Randy (Deborah) Nett, Appleton; Dan Nett, Weyauwega; Steven Nett, New London; and Alan Nett, Appleton. She is further survived by her 13 grandchildren, Dan Jr., Ryan (Bethany), Joe, Andrew, Jessica, Amber, Angie, Aimee, Scott, Cristy, Austin, Corey, and Dakota; her great granddaughter, Ahmia Williams Walsh; her two step-sisters, Linda Duesterhoefter/Nett, and Judy Lillie; her six step brothers, Sylvester, Jim, Ralph, Eugene, Peter and Paul Nett. She was preceded in death by her step-fathers, Harold Meyer and Sylvester Nett, Sr; her sister, Genevieve Bowe/Gorzelitz; her brother-in-law, Norman Bowe, Sr; and her grandparents, Sebastion and Edna Kasper. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 26, 2004, at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 209 South Allen Street, Appleton, with Rev. Kurt Kovanen and Rev. Mary Beth Kovanen officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri-County Chapel, Menasha, on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again directly at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah.
