Novotny, Joanne Gerarde

Joanne Gerarde Novotny, born July 22, 1957. Returned to the Lord August 12, 2007. Cherished daughter of Joseph and Mary Anna Novotny. Loving sister of Paul (Debra) and John (Therese). Beloved aunt of Maria, Kate, Julia, Martha, Alex, Mark, Meg and Joe. Fondly remembered by countless relatives, close friends and co-workers at Johnson & Johnson. Her dedication to healing is exemplified in her lifelong career as a lab specialist serving hospitals throughout the Midwest. Joanne’s life was filled with exuberance and joy. She embraced it with optimism and hope.
“I’ve made it to my 50th. I’m not over the hill – I’m cresting it. This is my Jubilee Year – The Year of Joanne.”
The mass for Joanne will be held at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 West Lawrence Street, Appleton, with Father Larry Abler officiating. Visitation will be held at the church, from 4:00 pm, until the time of the mass. A time for sharing with family and friends will follow the Mass.
A further celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 17, 2007, at Gesu Church, 1145 West Wisconsin Avenue, in Milwaukee, with Father John Schwantes, S.J. presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 am, immediately followed by the Mass of Resurrection.
Memorials to The Jesuit Retreat House in Oshkosh, St. Joseph’s Parish in Appleton, Marquette University and Divine Savior Holy Angels High School.
