Joanne L. Franz, age 89, a resident of St. Paul Home in Kaukauna, died late Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Born February 27, 1932, she was the daughter of the late William and Edith (Meyer) Carnot of Kaukauna.
Joanne graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1950 and was then employed at Thilmany Pulp and Paper Co. as a stenographer and teletype operator until her marriage to Robert (Bob) Franz in 1957.
A member of St. John Lutheran Church on Military Rd., Kaukauna, she belonged to the Ladies Aid Society, the Altar Guild, the church choir, and through the years served in numerous other capacities.
Bob and Joanne loved to travel and enjoyed many destinations in the United States. They sometimes traveled alone and other times shared these trips with friends. Loving music, they took numerous trips to Nashville, TN and Branson, MO and looked forward to concerts closer to home.
Joanne enjoyed luncheons with her friends and get-togethers with family through the years.
In addition to her husband, Robert, and her parents, she was preceded in death by her father- and mother-in-law, William and Hilda Franz; brothers David (Dorothy) Carnot, Kaukauna, Paul Carnot, Kaukauna, a sister, Alice (Gerald) Diestler, Hortonville, brother- and sister-in-law, Elmer and Evelyn (Franz) Vissers, Neenah, Godson nephews Tom Carnot, Kaukauna, and Kurt Diestler, Hortonville, a niece Michele (Micky) Stamm, Larsen, and a great-great-niece, Macy VanZeeland, Appleton.
Survivors include her sister, Naomi Carnot, New Berlin, sister-in-law, Mary (Siebers) Carnot, Little Chute, and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families, along with other relatives and friends.
The Christian Funeral Service for Joanne will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Fargo Funeral Home, located at 400 W. Wisconsin Avenue in Kaukauna, with Rev. Andy Luehring officiating. A private burial will follow. Friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John Lutheran Church are appreciated.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff at St. Paul’s facility in Kaukauna for their care, support, and compassion for Joanne.
