Joanne B. “Jo” Diestler, 82, passed away on April 17, 2017 surrounded by her family at home.
Jo was born on April 3, 1935 to Myron and Nelda (Schroeder) Lietzke. On May 16, 1959, she was united in marriage to Franklin “Hank” Diestler in Greenville. She enjoyed gardening, canning and made the best pecan pies. She was an avid Packer, Brewer and Bucks fan and liked to bowl, play cards and dominos. Most of all she was a loving and caring mom, grandmother and great grandmother. She attended their activities as often as possible. Jo was a member of Faith Community United Methodist Church in Greenville and was active in Bible studies, quilting, and women's groups. Her faith was important to her and she knew Jesus as her Savior.
Jo is survived by her husband Hank of 57 years, three children; Mike (Lisa) Diestler, Tim (Sue) Diestler, Mari (Dave) Van Stippen, 6 grandchildren; Matt (Hannah), Katrina, Leah (Chris), Holly (Nate), Ben and Sam, 5 great grandchildren and one more on the way, sisters and brother; Pam (Alan) Uhlenbrauck, Shirley (Paul) Hameister, Buzz (Charlotte) Leitzke, Kathy (Neil) Plamann, sister-in-law Linda Hathaway, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Hank's parents, a sister Karen and an infant sister Yvonne.
The funeral service for Jo will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM at FAITH COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, N1966 Julius Rd, Greenville. A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.
