Joan Marie McCormick, age 57, of Menasha, passed away at her home with her family by her side on Tuesday evening, May 29, 2018. Joan was born on June 27, 1960, daughter of the late Joe and Helen (Gabrielson) Loderbauer. After graduating from Kaukauna High School, Joan married her love and best friend, Dave McCormick, on Halloween in 1980. Joan was an entrepreneur at heart; crafting Barbie clothing and sewing items to sell at local craft fairs. Joan was best known for her custom-made dog bandanas that she sold throughout the United States and internationally.
Joan was a gentle soul who was the rock and foundation of her family. She was always there when you needed her. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and fishing. She shared her talents by making hats and booties for the Ronald McDonald House and was an adult advisor for the youth community service club. On special occasions, Joan and Dave would take weekend trips to the casino. Joan loved to take long walk, rain or shine, as a way to clear her mind and find peace. Joan will always be remembered for the good times she had with family and friends.
Joan is survived by her husband of 37 years: Dave McCormick; her daughter: Angela (Travis) Krause; and her grandson: David McCormick. She is further survived by her sister: Sr. Jane Marie; brothers: Joe Loderbauer and Mike (Connie) Loderbauer; mother-in-law: Carol McCormick; and brother-in-law Huguener Bastia; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister: Betty Bastia; and her father-in-law: James McCormick.
The funeral service for Joan will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at the FARGO FUNERAL HOME, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave. Kaukauna. A time of visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Online condolences may be expressed a www.wichmannfargo.com.
