Joan M. Wieloch
Nee: Kraft
Age 80, of Appleton, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Oakridge Gardens, Menasha, with her family at her side.
She was born June 10, 1927, in Appleton, the daughter of Joseph A. and Marie (Weisgerber) Kraft. She attended grade school and high school at St. Mary's, Menasha, and was united in marriage to Leonard Wieloch on September 3, 1956, at St. Mary's. Leonard preceded her in death in 1979.
Joan enjoyed reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, cooking, and was a good writer when she was younger. Joan had a beautiful singing voice and sang in the church choir at St. Mary's. She was a lifetime member of the Widows of Prayer group in the Valley and was a devoted volunteer of a prayer chain. Her favorite times were spent with her children and her grandchildren. Joan had a kind heart and extended unconditional love to everyone she knew.
Joan is survived by her children, John J. (Linda) Wieloch, Simpsonville, SC, Susan M. (Scott) Barden, Menasha, Julie A. (Ed) Dorschner, Menasha, and Paul L. Wieloch, Appleton; her grandchildren, Jamie Rae (Tim) Ware and Travis Wieloch, of South Carolina, and Nick and Emily Barden, Menasha; a sister, Shirley A. (Jack) Jahnke, Nekoosa; a brother, John J. (Dru) Kraft, Winneconne; sisters-in-law, Rose Klimek, Appleton, and Marie Klimek, St. Louis, MO; a brother-in-law, Norbert (Carolyn) Wieloch, Appleton; and many dear nieces, nephews and very special lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, mother-in-law, Mary Wieloch, sister-in-law, Lucille and Ivan Rhyner, and brothers-in-law, John Klimek and Chet Klimek.
The funeral mass for Joan will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2008,
at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 West Lawrence Street, with Father Larry Abler, OFM Cap. as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Menasha. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Wichmann Funeral Home, and again from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the time of mass at the church. A memorial fund is being established in Joan's name.
The family would like to thank the nurses, caregivers, and residents at Oakridge Gardens for their care and friendship, and Dr. Mahindra and the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
