Age 74, died Thursday afternoon, November 20, 2003. She was born October 26, 1929, to the late Fred and Ethel (Reich) Stilp, in Menasha, where she was a resident all of her life. Joan graduated from St. Mary Catholic High School in 1947 and had been employed by Intertape Polymer Group (Central Products), retiring in 1991. She enjoyed spending time with her family, children, grandchildren, knitting and reading. Joan was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Menasha. Survivors include her husband Andrew M. "Bud" DeLeeuw, Jr., to whom she had been married for 53 years; six children, Susan (Jim) Wohlrabe, Fremont; Steven DeLeeuw and his special friend, Peggy, Oshkosh; John (Jane) DeLeeuw, White Bear Lake, MN; Tom (Betsy) DeLeeuw, Neenah; Andy (Tami) DeLeeuw, Holmen, WI; Amy (Dan) Jones, Menasha; 18 grandchildren, David, Dan, Jamie, Nicholas, Brad, Jessica, Ben, Abbi, Sara, Adam, Meghan, Andrew, Cody, Nathaniel, Joshua, Caleb, Elizabeth and Samantha; 7 great grandchildren, Tyler, Hannah, John, Rose, Taylor, McKenzee and Kendal; a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia (Robert) Smith, Knapp, WI. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law, Katie VanBeek, Mary Deeg, Helen Anholzer, Pat VanDeHey, all of Kimberly; Audrey Hopfensperger and Margaret Willis, both of Orlando, FL. She was preceded in death by a sister, Caroline Bodway. A memorial service for Joan will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 29, 2003, at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 212 Appleton Street, Menasha, with Father Paul Radetski officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 am, Saturday until the time of the mass. Memorial funds have been established for St. Mary Catholic Church and the Boys and Girls Brigade of Neenah/Menasha.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Joan's daughter-in-law, Betsy, Dr. Maria Aristigueta, Dr. Curtis Baltz and the staff of Theda Clark Hospital, 5th Floor, especially Mary.
