Jim Ebben

James Peter Ebben, age 85, passed away quietly, surrounded by his family on March 10, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospital.  Jim was born on October 1, 1937, in Green Bay, WI, son of Peter and Frieda (Weller) Ebben.  He attended St. Mary High School in Menasha graduating in 1956.  He met the love of his life, Joyce Van Stralen, at a street dance.  The two wed at St. Paul Catholic Parish on May 19, 1959.  Jim worked several office jobs through out life, retiring from Foremost Farms.

Jim was a true outdoorsman.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved all animals, especially English Springer Spaniels.  Jim and Joyce filled their weekends visiting antique stores, flea markets and thrift stores looking for coins and heisey glass to add to his collection.  He was incredibly knowledgeable and was an avid reader who always gave the best advice.

Jim is survived by his devoted wife: Joyce Ebben; and their three daughters: Linda (Rusty) Wege, Lea Ann (Tim Amerson) Hietpas, and Lisa (Bill Lewis) Ebben.  He is further survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, many relatives, and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Carol Boede.

In accordance to Jim’s wishes, no formal funeral will be held.  Memorial donations may be made to Feeding America or the Salvation Army.
