Jill Hanson, age 49, passed away peacefully at her home following a courageous, sassy, and sometimes sarcastic battle against cancer; a battle during which, her body underwent such trauma from the treatments that it simply could not recover in order to more effectively fight the cancer. She was born on September 20, 1973, in Appleton, the daughter of George and Michele (Courchain) Malinski. Jill graduated from Appleton West High School, the Class of 1992. She was united in marriage to Jeremy Hanson on May 6, 2000, in Neenah, and they are members of Peace Lutheran Church, Neenah.
Jill loved her family and friends more then words could express, they were her everything. She enjoyed watching cute babies laugh, the Carlton Dance, and reading Janet Evanovich novels. Her additional loves included Toby Keith, angels, and palm trees. As she stated in her planning for her own funeral, her past times include: shooting darts, drinking beer, and talking smart. Jill wants to be remembered most for her love of family and friends, always being kind, and that she did her best!
Jill is survived by her husband: Jeremy; 2 children: Brenten Hanson and Maggie (Andrew) Steele; her father: George Malinski; 2 brothers: Scott (Amy) Malinski and Clint (Kristy) Malinski; a brother-in-law: Erik Hanson; 2 nephews: Maxwell and Alexander Malinski; her fur grandbabies: Baby K and Baby Beew “Mugsy”; other relatives and friends.
Jill was preceded in death by her mother: Michele Malinski; maternal and paternal grandparents; and aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Jill will be held at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Peace Lutheran Church, 1228 S. Park Ave., Neenah. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 10, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, and again on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 am until the celebration. Memorial contributions are appreciated to Peace Lutheran Church.
“I have loved you all so much! It’s been a trip. We’ve had our ups and downs, but we’ve made it, right Jeremy? I absolutely hate to leave you. I can’t even tell you the pain it causes. I love you all so much.” - Jill
