Jerry R. Haugner, (67) died this year on Ash Wednesday. Jerry loved animals, especially dogs, his friends and his family. (Jerry was known to “speak dog” and approached life with the same joy, loyalty, friendship, empathy and love as they did.) For a profession, he was a house artist / painter / carpenter and worked on homes and buildings throughout Wisconsin. His passion was cooking. Whether it was at camp, for family holiday meals or as a short order cook at a local restaurant (where the bread he made so well was turned into sandwiches for neighborhood kids who needed a lunch) Jerry was never happier. To describe Jerry as “Unique” would be an understatement. He, too is missed by his family and friends. His ashes and the ashes of his beloved dogs now lie in God’s woods, on a ridge above the trout stream he loved. He would wish you “Peace.”
