Gerald G. Randerson ‘Jerry’
Age 86
Of Appleton, passed away on March 13, 2004 at Appleton Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Jerry was born on June 17, 1917 in Freedom, WI to the late George and Josephine Randerson. Jerry married Helen Crowe in 1942 and she passed away in 1972. On August 1, 1985 he married Bernice Ulman at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. A salesman his whole life he worked in the soft drink and clothing industries until retiring in 1987. In 1959 he founded the Appleton ‘Serra Club’ International, which is an organization of Catholic lay men who help promote vocations to priesthood. He was also a devoted member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and member of Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of and past president of the Appleton Jaycees. Upon retiring he and Bernice enjoyed traveling during winters to Hawaii and Florida. He enjoyed spending summers with family and friends at his cottage on Boundary Lake. He was also an avid trout fisherman, deer hunter and gardener. Jerry was a 50 year season ticket holder and devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice; children: Gerald (Linda) Randerson, Appleton, Sharon (Tom) Wennerman, Appleton, Robert Randerson, Appleton, James Randerson, Appleton, Mary Bungert, Greenville, 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister,
Eileen (Norbert) Van Wychen, Kaukauna; sister-in-law, Margie Randerson; step-children, Judy (Gene) Pittz, Clifford (Dee) Ulman, Dennis (Betty) Ulman and Louis (Pat) Ulman; 6 step-grandchildren and 10 great step-grandchildren; further survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Helen; brothers: Melvin, Eugene and Patrick and his sister, Lucille.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2004 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church (1810 N. McDonald St.) Appleton with Father Gerald R. Falk officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 4 until 7 PM with a 7:00 prayer service all at the funeral home. On Thursday morning there will also be visitation from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. A memorial fund is being established.
