Jeffrey Kent Reischl, 56, passed away unexpectantly of heart problems on March 24, 2023. Jeff was born on April 14, 1966, in Clintonville, son of the late Shirley Colburn-Reischl-Lappen. He graduated from Watersmeet High School in Michigan in 1984. Jeff then attended the Minnesota Culinary School of the Arts, earning his Executive Chef title. He held various executive chef positions at fine dining establishments throughout the United States.
Jeff was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and camping. He was a talented scrabble player, loved practical jokes and was famous for his terrible “Dad Jokes”. While most of his family cheered for the Packers, Jeff was dedicated to the Detroit Lions and any other sports played in Michigan. Above all, Jeff will be remembered for being a kind and loving son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Jeff is survived by his large family; his late mother Shirley; sisters: Susan (Rick) Stermer, Debra (her late husband Rick) Franzke, Dawn (Arthur) Ruedinger, Ginna (Brian) Kubinski, Reane Hooper, and Kim Reischl; brothers: Steven Reischl, Norbert (Kathy) Reischl Jr., David Reischl, the late Paul Reischl, Patrick Reischl, Toby (Kelly) Reischl, the late John Lappen, and Jaye (Melissa) Lappen; as well as his late step father: Walter Lappen and many nieces and nephews.
The memorial service for Jeff will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior St. Appleton. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of service. Jeff will be laid to rest next to his mother, step father, and brothers at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Jeff’s family would like to thank the Appleton First Responders and the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their efforts.
