Jeanette H. (Thurk) Wolfgram
Town of Menasha
Age 83, died Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at Oakridge Gardens in Menasha following a ten year battle with Alzheimers disease. She was born on October 13, 1917 in Appleton the daughter of the late John and Mary (Manning) Wood. She was employed by the Outagamie County Bank, now Wells Fargo Bank for 22 years as a customer service officer, an SOS advisor, and was an organizer and advisor of the 55 Grand Club. She enjoyed traveling and watching the Packers. She was a long time member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was active in the Girl Scout Troop of the parish.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara (Cliff) Schultz of Darboy; her step-daughter Shirley (Jerome) Geurts of Havre de Grace, MD; her three sisters Sister Mary Paulita (Ramona) Wood of Dubuque, IA, Margaret (Tom) Slattery, and Sister Mary John (Rita) Wood all of Manitowoc; her grandchildren Lisa (Ken) Kilsdonk of Darboy, and Anne (Jeff) Gahr West Allis, WI; her step-grandchildren Pam (Mike) Warren of Arizona, and Kathy (Jay) Tosh of Maryland; her great grandson Joey Kilsdonk, and Logan Jeffrey Gahr; her step great grandchildren Courtney, Kyle, and Garrett Tosh, and Marcie Warren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Wilbert “Jim” Thurk, her infant daughter Mary Margaret Thurk, her sister Mary Catherine Fountain, Maybelle Sigl, and Jean Paquet who her mother raised from a little girl, and her second husband Herman Wolfgram.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 2, 2001 at 11:00 AM at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 312 South State Street in Appleton with the Rev. Michael O’Rourke officiating. Interment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Appleton. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
