Jeanne Wirth, age 86, passed peacefully on January 17, 2024, in Appleton. She was born to Walter and Lorena Wolf on July 14, 1937. She married John “Jack” Wirth January 27, 1955, in Springfield, Massachusetts while Jack was serving in the Air Force.
Jeanne was a strong-minded woman, just ask anyone who knew her. She spent most of her employed years at K-Mart and Guardian. She had many friends including “The Group,” The Golden Girls, Red Hatters, and the Bunko ladies. She loved and enjoyed her grand and great grandchildren. Jeanne was especially close to her four sisters. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, and visiting the casino. She was very artistic and crafty, a talent she inherited from her mother.
She is survived by her sons; Jerry (Pam) Wirth of Monona, and Jim (Mary) Wirth of Freedom; grandchildren; Amy Brandenburg, Trevor (Erica) Wirth, Jessica Hooyman (Shane), and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her three sisters, Carol (Ron) Kilsdonk of Appleton, Bonnie Ertl of Michigan, Mary (Jerry) Ewig of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Walter Wolf Jr., sister LaQuitta Frankland, and son Jeff “Grumps” Wirth, her husband John “Jack” Wirth.
A special thanks to the entire staff at Compassus Hospice Care and Eagle Point Senior Living. A special thank you goes out to Laurie Nicolson for her friendship to the end. A Celebration of Life will held later this year at Hank and Karen’s Bar in Appleton.
