Age 80, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at Appleton Medical Center. She was born on December 29, 1926 in Appleton to the late Louis and Emma (Heiman) Steffen. She was one of 9 children born to the Steffen Family. Jean proudly served her country with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.

She is survived by her sister, Marilyn Helms, Green Bay; and her nieces and nephews: Bernard Helms, Douglas Helms, Randall Helms, Cheryl Thomas, Anthony Steffen, Lorna Klemp, Debbie LeFleuer, Denise Meyer, and JoLea Cowgill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven siblings.

Funeral services for Jean will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the Wichmann Funeral Home (537 North Superior Street) with the Rev. Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank Dr. Turk and the staff in the I.C.U. at Appleton Medical Center for taking care of Jean during her time with them.
