Jean A. Worm

Age 63, passed away following a one-year illness on Wednesday, August 20, 2003 at Cherry Meadows Hospice, surrounded by those she loved. Jean was born in Appleton on May 18, 1940, daughter of the late Howard and Barbara (Seekins) Feavel. She married Gordon Worm on May 7, 1960 in Neenah; he survives. For many years, Jean cared for children in her home, and was a former member of the Johnston – Blessman Post #38 American Legion Auxiliary, as well as the Mothers of Twins Club. Jean was a great seamstress, and also crocheted and donated many baby caps for newborns at the Appleton Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband: Gordon Worm of Appleton; three daughters: Lisa Worm of Appleton and her daughter Ashley; Tina Otto and her special friend Jim Pollex of Appleton and her daughter Jenna; Lesley (Chad) Baker of Appleton and their children Miranda, Megan, and Jack; two sons: Todd Worm and his special friend Jody Hartung of Madison and his daughter Lace; and Troy Worm of Appleton; two brothers: Chuck Feavel of Stanley and Terry Feavel of Appleton; two sisters-in-law: Diane (Tom) Schisel of Neenah and Betty (Wesley) Reschke of DePere; a brother-in-law: Don (Mary) Worm of Appleton; her mother-in-law: Dorothy Worm of Neenah. In addition to numerous nieces and nephews, Jean is also survived by her dear friend Karen Schultz of Appleton. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Diane, a brother-in-law Rick Worm, and her father-in-law George Worm.

Funeral services for Jean will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 22, 2003 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jeffrey Verbeke officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday (TODAY) from 5 – 7 PM and again on Friday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the services.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton; even though Jean’s stay was short, you made her as comfortable as possible. Thanks also to Kelly, Jean’s ThedaCare At Home nurse. Your visits not only made her more comfortable, but you became a friend to all of us. Thank you all so very much!
