Jay Malcom Van Geffen, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024. Jay was born on January 29, 1960, to the late Donald and Jane (Malcolm) Van Geffen of Kimberly. He graduated from Kimberly High School in 1978. Jay worked for Kimberly Clark Corporation for many years before he began his career as a sales manager for Standard Electric Supply Company. He was a very successful manager and his customers often became good friends.
Jay had many interests which included fishing, hunting, golfing, and music. He loved to travel, and enjoyed attending many professional golf tournaments over the years. When his daughters were growing up, he enjoyed their trips up north and to Florida. He loved being out on the water and fishing with his girls.
Jay was very proud of his two daughters and was a loyal and supportive father. He never missed a concert or school event that they were involved in, and he treasured his time with them. He was blessed with four grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Being “Gramps” was the best thing in his world. He made an effort to be present in his grandchildren’s lives as often as he could. He was known for getting right into the action, sitting on the floor with his “little buddies” to read them books and play games for hours.
Jay’s dependability, generosity, enthusiasm, determination, sense of humor, and sparkling blue eyes will be forever missed. Rest in peace, Dad, we will love you and miss you forever.
Jay is survived by his daughters Lisa (Kyle) Larson and Laura (William) Van DynHoven; grandchildren: Lucas, Cullen, Lily and Noah; siblings: Jim (Bev) Van Geffen, Debbie (Tom) Joosten, Donna (Tom) Czechowski, Daryl (Colleen) Van Geffen and brother-in-law Randy Achten; fiancée: Penny Mingerink; and former wife: Jeanne Heimann.
Jay is preceded in death by his parents Donald and Jane and his sister Judy Achten.
