FREEDOM
Age 47, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 11, 2006 at Methodist Hospital, San Antonio, Texas. Jay was born March 27, 1958 in Appleton the son of Donald and Marguerite (Dorn) Johnson. He graduated from Kimberly High School. On April 14, 1989 Jay married Constance (Bushman) Gilmore. He was employed at Jones Sign Company in DePere. Jay enjoyed fishing, woodworking, his dogs and most importantly time spent with his wife, children, family and friends. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom.
Jay is survived by his wife of sixteen years, Constance (Bushman) Gilmore-Johnson of Freedom; children: Jonathon Gilmore of Freedom, Adam Johnson, MM2 U.S. Navy, Melissa Gilmore of Freedom and Crystal Johnson of Freedom; parents, Donald and Marguerite Johnson of Kimberly; brothers: James (Carol) Johnson of Racine and John (Sandy) Johnson of Kimberly; sisters: Judy (Mike) Holzknecht of Kimberly, Janice (Andy) Dietzen of Appleton and Jolene Johnson of Appleton; father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Carol (Zuelzke) Bushman of Appleton; brothers-in-law: Joseph Jr. (Debbie) and Patrick (Chris) Bushman; sisters-in-law: Cynthia (Mark) Wheeler, Cheryl (Kevin) Halvorson and Carrie (Greg) Tomasik. He is further survived by Joyce (the late Marvin) Davis, Florence Dunsmore, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The funeral liturgy will be at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 17, 2006 at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, N4088 Cty Trunk E, Freedom with Fr. John Schuetze officiating. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. Friends may call on Thursday, March 16, 2006 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri County Chapel and Friday at the Church from 11:00 am until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Jay’s family.
Applying himself wholeheartedly to everything he did,
Jay now takes his place as God’s Carpenter.
