Jason W. Pogrant, age 22, died unexpectedly of natural causes at his home in Stevens Point. Jason was born April 11, 1985 to John and Betty (Borree) Pogrant of Kaukauna. For several years, Jason was a member of the Appleton Boychoir, and was part of the group that traveled to Japan. He graduated from Kaukauna High School where he enjoyed participating in the marching band as a tuba player and performing lead roles in school plays. In 2007, Jason graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point with honors. He was currently employed by Liberty Mutual Insurance in Wausau. Jason's passion for computers permeated all that he did, both at work and in his leisure time. He also had a love of outdoor activities such as snowboarding and water-skiing, his mother's Christmas cookies and candies, music, and reading. Jason always greatly admired his older brother, John.
Jason is survived by his parents: John (Betty) Pogrant, Sr. of Kaukauna; a brother: John (Bobbi) Pogrant, Jr. of DePere and their daughter Addison; numerous aunts and uncles: Ken (Carol) Borree of Kaukauna, David (Sharon) Borree of Kaukauna, Melvin (Lois) Lendt of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, Sharon (Roger) Steinberg of New London, Darold (Cheryl) Borree of St. Francis, Wisconsin, Dennis (Mary Lou) Hoelzel of Menasha, Janet Pogrant of Little Chute, Dave (Joan) Pogrant of Waupaca, and Jason's Godmother: Donna Pogrant of Wauwatosa. He is also survived a very special friend, Holly Dickmann of Jackson, Wisconsin, as well as by many cousins, other relatives, friends, and co-workers who will all miss him dearly.
Jason was preceded in death by a sister Jennifer, paternal grandparents Earl and Rosella Pogrant, maternal grandparents Walter and Caroline Borree, and an uncle William Pogrant.
Funeral services for Jason will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at TRINITY EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 804 Grignon Street in Kaukauna with Rev. Karl Schultz officiating. Inurnment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorials be made to Prader-Willi Syndrome research.
