Janice T. Minten

Janice “Jan” Minten, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 27, 2024, with her family at her side. Jan was born in Kaukauna on January 24, 1940, to the late John and Anna (Jansen) Weyenberg. On May 19, 1962, she was united in marriage to Eugene Minten of Kimberly, and they had a wonderful 35 years together until his passing on July 3, 1997.

Jan is a 1958 graduate of Kaukauna High School and was employed at Thilmany’s in Kaukauna until she began raising her family of 5 with Gene in Darboy. She loved spending time with her family camping and at the lake. Jan cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. She had a love for ice cream later in life and we had to make sure the freezer was always stocked with dilly bars! Jan was an avid seamstress, making and mending clothing for her family.

Jan is survived by her children: Ellen Liethen, Debra Ott, Kelly (Jim) Sanderfoot, Lisa Vandehey, and Todd (Sarah) Minten all of Darboy; grandchildren: Eric Vandehey of Darboy, Kayla (special friend Nick Stugelmeyer) Vandehey of Colorado, Joe Minten and Jessica Minten of Darboy; siblings: Richard Weyenberg, Carol Coenen, Raymond (Janice) Weyenberg, Dorothy Lamers and Charles Weyenberg; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Bev Weyenberg, David (Carol) Minten, Joan Hammen, and Nancy Bolwerk; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband and parents; father- and mother-in-law: John and Norma Minten; sons-in-law: Jeff Liethen, TJ Ott, and Steve Vandehey; brother: James Weyenberg; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Louise Weyenberg, Greg Coenen, Dan Lamers, Nancy Weyenberg, Gerald (Marilyn) Minten, Ronald Hammen, and Clair Bolwerk; and a nephew: Ken Weyenberg.

The funeral liturgy for Jan will be held at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, W2806 County Road KK, Darboy. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the church from 9:00 am until the time of the Mass. Interment will take place in Holy Angels Cemetery, Darboy. Memorials contributions are appreciated to FSHD for Muscular Dystrophy.

Jan will be greatly missed by all those who crossed her path. – LOVE YOU MOM/GRANDMA
