On September 26th, 2021, Janice ‘Mom’ Lee Winslow, was called home to be a guardian angel after a tragic four-wheeling accident. She was just 56 years old.
Mom’s deepest meaning of life and joy comes back to her four sons and five grandchildren. There wasn’t a day that passed by you wouldn’t hear, “You don’t understand, I just love being mom” or “Gosh, I just love being Grammy.” Alongside her strong love for family, “Lee” shared a heartfelt career with the oncology department of Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology/ThedaCare for 15 years. She was the laughter and warmth to the entire team. Lee has touched so many lives with her dedication to making every person feel loved and hopeful.
Her dream to live off the land came true these past years of her life. She bought a cabin in Crivitz, Wisconsin dedicated to her four sons. Her wish was that they may always have a place to gather, to get away, and call home. Mom always lived her life to the fullest with sunshine in her eyes and a “yahoooooo” in the wind.
Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her sisters Judy Gerhardt (Scott Gerhardt), Lori Jensen-Foltz (Toby Foltz), and Lesa Carabajal; her sons Anthony Hawks (Kaylee Hawks), Brandon Hawks (Katie Kortz), Jordan Hawks (Michelle Hazen), Dakota Blomquist (Krystal Karns) and Randy Turner (Amanda Turner); her grandchildren Ezra (Ezzy Bear), Charlotte (Princess), Lily (Dilly), Kora (Kora Bug) and Cian (Ham); and her nieces and nephews Pattie (Rat), Cody (Codeman), Justin (Itis), Austin (Boog), Jesse (Jessmo), and Ashley (Butterfly). She will also be missed dearly by numerous friends who she made laugh every day.
Mom was greeted into to heaven by her parents Kenny Jensen and Jean Down, as well as her brother Danny Jensen.
A memorial visitation for Lee will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior St. Appleton. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
