Janice L. Janssen

Janice “Jan” L. (Lambrecht) Janssen, age 79, of Kimberly, passed away on April 27, 2023. She was born on November 4, 1943, in Shawano, Wisconsin to the late Lester and Bernice (Christiansen) Lambrecht. She married her high school sweetheart, William “Bill” Janssen, on April 24, 1964.

Jan graduated from Gillet High School in 1961. She attended school to become a beautician. She held various jobs while raising her children and grandchildren.

Bill and Janice opened their hearts and their home and grew their family by becoming adoptive/foster parents in the late 80’s and forever changing lives.

Jan’s fondest memories were those spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved gardening and taking care of her flowers. Jan was also an avid Packer fan and was able to attend many games.

She is survived by her children, William “Paul,” Kim (George), Kristina, Kathy (Jeff), and Amanda (Chad); her grandchildren; her son-in-law, Brad; her sister, Jolene; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann and Paula; and brothers-in-law, Richard (Barb) and Roger. She is further survived by special friends, Bill & Marilyn and many other family members and friends too numerous to list but never forgotten.

Jan was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her daughter, Michelle; granddaughter, Kari; sister, Joyce; her in-laws, William and Hazel; brothers-in-law, James, Ben, and Michael.

The funeral service for Jan will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2330 E. Calumet St, Appleton. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church starting at 9:00 AM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
