Janet B. (Fithian) Hudson
Age 95, of Appleton and Minocqua, Wisconsin
passed away at Appleton Medical Center on Saturday, January 28, 2006. She was born October 24th, 1910 in Chicago, IL and married her husband Thomas July 29th, 1932.

Janet and her husband enjoyed many wonderful summers in their home on Fence Lake, Minocqua, as well as winters in southern Texas. The joy of her life was time spent with her family which includes four children, their spouses, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Janet made many friends throughout her life and particularly enjoyed her bridge clubs and needlepoint circles. The “Happy Hookers” were a special group of stitchery friends for Janet. In addition, she pursued interests in gardening (especially growing roses), golf, reading and sailing. Wherever Janet and Tom lived, she was an active volunteer in both community and church activities.

Survivors include her husband of 74 years, Thomas P. Hudson of Touchmark, Appleton; four children: Philip (Rosemary) Hudson, Hubertus, WI, Judith (Fred) Darling, Depere, WI, Thomas (Myra) Hudson, Bainbridge Island, WA, and Timothy (Amy), Oconto Falls, WI, fourteen grandchildren and ten great children. Also surviving is her sister, Rose Lee, St. Louis, MO and many nieces and nephews. Janet was also beloved “Mom” to Kunter (Gretchen) Akbay, Niskayuna, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.

A memorial service will be held at St. Matthias Episcopal Church, Minocqua, WI at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 11, 2006. The Reverend Edgar Wallace will officiate.
