Jane (Anderson) Ziemer
Jane Ziemer, age 91, devoted wife, dear mom, grandma and great grandma, died peacefully with family at her side on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Appleton Medical Center. She was born, July 6, 1922, daughter of the late Julia and Elmer Anderson, youngest of five children. She married Rev. Leonard Ziemer on June 15, 1946, raised five children, and the two were together for 54½ years until his death in 2001.
She was the heart and anchor of her family- with her welcoming smile, sense of humor and words of support. She was generous and giving, her home was the place to gather or stop by-with her famous candy drawer. She made it a point to connect to each of her grandchildren, attending many of their activities and programs. She also had great joy in the addition of great grandchildren-recently holding three new baby boys. Jane was a woman of faith, and a member of First English Lutheran Church.
Jane is survived by her five children: Paul (Karen) Ziemer, John (Debbie) Ziemer, Ann (Jim) Christensen, Mark (Mary Kay) Ziemer and Julie Ziemer; twelve grandchildren: Erin, Scott (Sarah), Ben, Pete, Mike (Tiffany), Christine (Ian), John (Rachel), Anna (fiancé Alex), Dan, Michael (Julie), David and Jenna; eight great-grandchildren: Malik, Bubba, Ava, Natalie, Ella, Leon, Mason and Malachi.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leonard Ziemer; her siblings: Orville Anderson, Jerry Anderson, Virginia Plaster and John Anderson.
The funeral service for Jane will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH (326 E. North St., Appleton) with Rev. Jeff Tengesdal officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Jane's name.
