With faith and the promise of eternal life, Jane Helen Hooyman peacefully entered the presence of the Lord on January 25, 2025 at the age of 77. Jane was born on December 6, 1947 to Gordon & Lucille Vandenberg. On August 29, 1969, Jane married Dennis Hooyman of Kimberly.
She brought immeasurable joy and light into our lives with her kind heart, radiant smile and boundless support for her family. Jane’s “gifted time" with her family was a message of love.
Jane was blessed with an abundance of friends with whom she played cards, board games and shared much laughter. “Grandma choo choo” also loved spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. The love and memory of her will never fade.
Jane’s light will continue to shine through her daughters Melanie (Jonathan) Bates and Tricia (Shawn) Pavlons, her grandchildren Christopher (Kimberly) Bates, Alyssa (Aaron) Davis and Lucas Pavlons, her great-granddaughters Emma and Alice Bates and her favorite “adapted” daughter Michelle Lippincott. Jane's “wombmate” Jean (Tom) Langenhuizen, and her other siblings Ron Vandenberg, Tom (Ann) Vandenberg, Beth (Frank) Sprangers and sister-in-law Nancy Vandenberg.
Dennis's siblings Gary (Betty Jo) Hooyman, Karl (Barb) Hooyman, Mary (Carl) Ness, Jeff (Barb) Hooyman, Cheryl (John) Golden and brothers-in-law Allen (Jeanne) Lamers and Chris Conner.
Jane was greeted in heaven by her husband Dennis, her parents, her brother John Vandenberg, her in laws Leo and Lorraine (Hermsen) Hooyman, Joanne (Carl) Helms, Elaine Lamers and Rose Conner.
A funeral service for Jane will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St. in Appleton with visitation beginning at 12:30 pm until the time of service at at 3:00 pm. She will be inurned at St. John Nepomucene Cemetery in Little Chute.

Melanie and Tricia extend heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Rennes Health and Rehab in Appleton for their loving and extraordinary care of Mom. Additional thanks to Dr. Anthony Ziemet for his kindness and devotion. We also appreciate the staff at the Cardiovascular ICU at St. Luke's Milwaukee for their medical expertise and tender care given to Mom in her final hours.
