Jane C. Burmeister

Jane C. Burmeister, age 72, of Appleton, died on Wednesday, February 9, 2005, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Jane was born one June 9, 1932, in Appleton to the late Al and May Kolb. She married Merrill Burmeister on November 5, 1954, in Appleton. Jane was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her husband of 50 years , Merrill; her daughter Nancy (Wade) Van Alstine, Appleton; her grandsons, Drew and Dylan; her sister, Shirley (Matt) Hecker, Menasha; her brother, Charles Kolb, Chicago; her mother-in-law, Josephine Burmeister, and her brother in-law, Harland Burmeister, both of Mountain, Wisconsin. Jane was a long-time member of the YMCA, especially enjoying swimming. She enjoyed the outdoors, bicycling, and windsurfing. Per Jane’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A memorial has been established in her name benefiting the American Cancer Society.

those years I thought I was always right
and that you were always wrong.

the most valuable lesson I would learn;
that you can love someone with everything
and expect nothing in return.
