Age 64, died Thursday morning, October 30, 2003 following a brief illness. He was born December 30, 1938, to the late Frederick and Blanche (Derosier) Marlowe, in Superior, WI, where he graduated from high school. Jim was drafted by the U. S. Army and served as a sergeant during the Viet Nam Conflict. Following his discharge Jim became involved in the trucking industry for over thirty years. Jim was a loving father, grandfather and friend and enjoyed traveling and working on his home. He was a member of the Oney Johnston-Edward Blessman American Legion Post #38. Survivors include his three children, James E. and Jenny Marlowe, Menasha; Susan L. and Dan Gabriel, Brillion; Katherine A. and David "Gert" Tonn, Neenah; three grandchildren, Andy, Jenniece and Anthony; his former wife, Judith Marlowe, Appleton; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Donna and Paul Chudecke, Superior; Janice Marlowe, New Brighton, MN; an aunt and uncle, Alice St. Mars and Louis St. Mars, Superior; and cousins. Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his step-mother, Gladys Marlowe, aunts uncles and cousins. Funeral services for James will be held at 7:00 pm, Monday, November 3, 2003, at the funeral home with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara, ThedaCare at Home Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends and relatives will be received at the funeral home from 4:00 pm Monday until the time of the service. There will be an American Legion Visitation at 6:30 pm, Monday. A memorial fund is being established.
