“Jim”
James R. Hoeller, of Appleton, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2009, at Appleton Medical Center. Jim was the son of Aloysius and Ruth (Rosencranz) Hoeller. He married Helen (Bernt) Pierce on March 12, 1976. For over 25 years Jim was the Executive Director of The Mooring Halfway House. Following his retirement from The Mooring, Jim founded a vending company, Jim Hoeller Enterprises. He was well-known for his involvement in numerous community affairs, as a member of AA, the Crisis Intervention Team, and taught Reality Therapy for many groups and organizations. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Helen; his daughters, Marcine (Dan) Spoke, and their family, Cheryl, Richard, Greg, Scott, Brian and Nick, Milwaukee; Margaret (George) Kohlweiss, and their children Jennifer and Jamie (Aaron) Hardt, Milwaukee; and Maureen Franzkowiak, and her children, Toni and Joe, Cedarburg; his sons, Scott Pierce, Black Creek, and his children, Brandon (Jim's business and golfing partner) and Kelsey, Appleton; and Stephen Pierce, and his children, Brittany and Nick, Black Creek; his daughter-in-law, Gayle Pierce, Appleton; his sister, Marie (John) Karfonta, New Berlin, and his brother, Donald (Bernadette) Hoeller, Milwaukee. The Memorial Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2009, at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 312 South State Street, Appleton, with Fr. Michael K. O'Rourke officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial has been established in Jim's name.
