James H. Nelson Jr.

James H. Nelson Jr, age 79 of Menasha passed away at his home in Menasha on Friday, May 13, 2022.  He was born June 6, 1942 in Oshkosh, WI to James and Gladys (Merkel) Nelson.  James graduated from Menasha High School in 1960.  He was united in marriage on May 23, 1964 to Donna Ellefson in Appleton.  He loved spending time at the campground and watching the Packers.  He always had a project or two that he was tinkering with at any given moment. 

James is survived by his son, James III (Jackie) Nelson; two sisters, Nancy and Karen; and many other relatives and dear friends. 

Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Donna; his parents, James and Gladys; and an infant daughter, Jessica. 

A funeral visitation will be held Saturday, May 21 from 10 AM – 12 PM at Wichmann-Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha, WI with a funeral service to follow at 12 PM with Pastor Paul Shackel officiating. 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Recover Health Home Care and Heartland Hospice for the love and care they’ve shown to Jim for the past few years.
