Age 44, died suddenly on Sunday, September 30, 2001. He was born on January 28, 1957 to Jim D. and Mardie M. (Evers) Smith in Appleton. Jim enjoyed riding his Harley, snowmobiling, camping and spending time with his many friends. He had the ability to find humor of any situation, know matter how dire it seemed to others. Jim was employed by Fox Valley Asphalt.
He is survived by his three daughters, Allie, Josie and Ashley; his parents, Mardie and Jim Smith; his brothers and sisters, Sandee and Mike Harness, Smith, Sue and Jim Roesler and Barbara and Norm Colson. He will also be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews, Tina Trader, Jenna and Dan Smith, Jr., Mike Perket, Amanda, Andrea and T.J. Smith, Hailey and Hannah Lider, Tricia Brimmer, Tawny and Tiffany Harness; many great nieces and nephews and friends.
Dan and Cindy Smith, Chris and John Michels, Todd and Doreen Smith and Tracie and Greg Lider; his aunts and uncles, Marion and Joe Joosten, Joe and Helen Evers, Dorothy Reider, Laverne and Norbert Kaminski, Evelyn Gambsky, Orville and Shirley Evers, Jeanie and Whitey VanAsten, Audrey and Ron Huss, Shirley and Jerry Broeren, Eugene and Carol Smith, Melvin and Pat He was preceded in death by a brother, Peter Joseph Smith, maternal grandparents, Anne and Peter Evers and paternal grandparents, Melvin and Marjie Smith; uncles, Carl Reider, Fay Gambsky and Vernon Verhooven and an aunt, Hazel Rometti.
The Funeral Liturgy will be 11AM Thursday, October 4, 2001 at HOLY ANGELS CATHOLIC CHURCH, W5831 Hwy KK, Darboy with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Viewing and visitation will be WEDNESDAY at the FUNERAL HOME from 4PM until 8PM and again on THURSDAY at the FUNERAL HOME from 9AM until 10AM at which time the cortege will process to Church led by Jim's bike.
A memorial is being established in Jim's name.
Jim's spirit and humor will continue to live through his organ donation.
