Age 46, joined his family in Heaven. Jimmy was born in Appleton on March 7, 1961 to James C. and Mary O. Magnus. He graduated from Menasha High School and lived in the Fox River area all of his life. Jimmy was employed by August Winter and Son. His work was a major source of pride for him. Jimmy loved being in the outdoors and spending time on the water. Jimmy was fiercely loyal to his family and friends. His best friend, companion, and first mate was his dog, Cody.

Jimmy will be sadly missed by his mother, Mary O. Magnus; sister and brother-in-law, Daphne Lynn and Keith “Big Daddy” Hawkins; nephew, Jonathan Hawkins and his fiancée, Lisa Darnick; niece, Elizabeth “Bits” Hawkins and her special friend, Kevin Schmidt; brother-in-law, Tom Kargus; and Cody. He was preceded in death by his father, James C. Magnus; sister, Sandy Kargus; and his brother, Steven Magnus. Jimmy will be greatly missed by his many friends.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton, with Rev. Charles Valenti-Hein officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Jimmy’s name is being established.
