Age 71, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 2, 2005 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. Jim was born in Kaukauna on January 27, 1934, son of the late Raymond and Mary (Hagel) Wenzel. He was a graduate of the Kaukauna High School, and for nearly forty years was employed at Appleton Papers’ Combined Locks Mill. In May of 1974, he married the former Joyce McCabe Milton; she survives. Jim enjoyed caring for his yard, and tending to the many small critters that visited his feeders. Jim is survived by his wife: Joyce Wenzel of Appleton; a son: Kenneth (Shannon) Wenzel of Cincinnati and his children Kenneth, Jr. and Benjamin; a step-son: Lenny (Mary) Milton of Darboy and their daughters Jenny (Jason) Chevalier and Laurie (Pete) Ritger; five great-grandchildren: Marley, Will, and Luke Chevalier; and Nathan and Elizabeth Ritger; a brother: Robert (Anna) Wenzel of Little Chute; two sisters-in-law: Patricia (Mike) Milton of Appleton and Shirley (Omar) Hietpas of Appleton; a brother-in-law: Fabian Arnoldussen of Wrightstown; and a special cousin: Lenore Sullivan of Kaukauna. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a special aunt Rose Thompson, a sister-in-law Iris Arnoldussen, and a special cousin Ed Sullivan.
The funeral liturgy for Jim will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 6, 2005 at ST. BERNADETTE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2525 E. Lourdes Drive in Appleton with Fr. Harold Berryman officiating. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna. Friends may call from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home and again at the church on Monday after 10:00 AM. Visiting hours will conclude Sunday with a prayer and scripture service at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
