Age 44, passed away very unexpectedly on Monday, June 6, 2005 at the Appleton Medical Center. Jim was born in Appleton on June 11, 1960, son of Gordon and Janet (Woyak) Brandt of Appleton. He was a graduate of Appleton West High School, and also served for a short time in the United States Navy. For the past eighteen years, however, Jim had been employed in a variety of positions at International Paper (now Thilmany LLC) in Kaukauna. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing on his parents’ pontoon boat on Shawano Lake. He was also an avid golfer, and enjoyed golfing with his son Chris.
Jim is survived by his parents: Gordy and Jan Brandt of Appleton; his son: Christopher, at home; a brother: Eugene Brandt of Appleton; three uncles: Eugene “Gene” (Patty) Woyak of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Myron “Mike” Woyak of Neenah, and Donald (Delores “Tootie”) Brandt of Appleton.
In keeping with Jim’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service.
Jim was a single parent who did the best he knew how for his son. Chris was his crowning achievement and Jim was so very proud of him! Jim spent his life doing things “his way” – even to the very end. He will be sorely missed by his family.
