James Charles Jochman “Cupcake”
Jim Jochman passed away peacefully Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the age of 82. Jim was born December 5, 1939 in Greenville, Wisconsin to James and Hazel Jochman (Schroeder). Jim graduated from Appleton High School in 1958 and enlisted in the US Army in 1963, stationed in Fort Bliss Texas, serving through 1965 when he was honorably discharged. He worked faithfully for Wisconsin Wire Works and Appleton Papers, from where he eventually retired.
Jim is survived by daughter Jodie Davis and son Lee Jochman. He is preceded in death by son Daniel Jochman (Kelli), parents James and Hazel Jochman and stepfather Norbert Jochman. Jim is further survived by siblings Judy VanRyzin (Mike), Sue Kroohn (Jim), Dennis Jochman (Barb), nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
As a younger man Jim was an avid hunter, gun collector and history enthusiast. He enjoyed hosting family and friends for the annual Flag Day Parade at his Appleton home. Jim enjoyed time spent at various local saloons and will be missed by many friends there. He will forever be remembered by his “grin” and his humor, always sharing stories with earnest enthusiasm. Jim will be greatly missed by his remaining children and grandchildren for whom he loved dearly.
Jim’s final resting place will be at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. A celebration of life will be held at the 10th Frame, June 2023 following the annual Flag Day Parade in Appleton.
