James J. Malone

James (Jim) John Malone, age 96 of Appleton, WI passed peacefully with his family by his side on May 25, 2017.

Jim was born in Alton, IL on March 29, 1921, son of Benard and Sabina (Cuti) Malone. After serving his country on Navy destroyer USS Coghlan – DD 606 in WWII, he was honorably discharged. He then settled in Rockford, IL where he met the love of his life, Virginia Terrazino. Jim was the most gentle, caring and loving husband, father and grandfather and he cherished his family.

He was a long time resident of Rockford where he retired from Rockford Products in 1984. He enjoyed making friends, playing cards and tending to his yard and garden. Jim was an avid reader and had a great interest in world history, geography, biographies and collecting miniature memorabilia.

Jim will be missed by his loving and devoted wife Virginia of 72 years his daughters; Bernice /Bernie (Dan) Rach, Lucille/Cec (Robert) Malone, Lisa (Joy) Malone, his grandchildren; Michael, Lee, Tom, Katie, Cory, his great-grandchildren; Ella, Brielle, Bryant and Lily.

Virginia and her family would like to give special thanks to his hospice home nurses Mary and Bonnie. Their care was exceptional and of great comfort to Jim's family. Also, many thanks to the staff at Cherry Meadows.
