James J. Jacobs

James Jacobs, age 66, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday morning, November 3, 2007. Jim was born November 15, 1940 in Milwaukee, son of the late Pearson and Lucille (Memmel) Jacobs. He graduated from Wauwatosa High School, and received a degree in electrical engineering from Marquette University. On September 14, 1963, Jim married the former Judy Anderson in Milwaukee. Jim worked as an electrical engineer for Wisconsin Electric Power Company in Appleton from 1965 until his retirement in the mid-1990’s. He was a member of the Appleton Noon Lions Club, Neenah’s Nodaway Yacht Club, and enjoyed playing racquetball and camping with his family. His real love was sailing, and for many years enjoyed time on the water with family and friends.

Jim is survived by his wife: Judy Jacobs of Menasha; four children: Jill Jacobs of Chicago; Jodi (Guy) Beiser of Neenah; Jamie (Stephanie) Jacobs of Darboy; and Joel Jacobs of Waukegan, Illinois; four grandchildren: Jay and Aaron Beiser and Lauren and Olivia Jacobs; a sister: June (Tom) Anderson of Milwaukee; two brothers: Robert (Victoria) Jacobs of Milwaukee and Stuart (Laura) Jacobs of Milwaukee; a brother-in-law: Richard (Marcia) Anderson of Kinderhook, New York. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A memorial mass for Jim will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, November 8, 2007 at ST. PATRICK’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 324 Nicolet Boulevard in Menasha with Fr. Larry Canavera officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Thursday from 9:30 AM until the hour of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
