Age 49, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Appleton Medical Center, following a brief, but courageous battle with Cancer. Jim was born on November 2, 1959 in Kaukauna, son of Paul W. and the late Barbara L. (Frank) Meyerhofer. He will be remembered as a very loving son, brother, uncle, and friend for his hard working, generous, and helpful demeanor, and his love of working on cars. He was also an avid Packers fan, and enjoyed every moment spent with his nieces and nephews.

He will be sadly missed by his father: Paul W. (Mary) Meyerhofer, Kaukauna; brother: Terry (Lori) Meyerhofer, Kaukauna; sisters: Lynn (Kevin) Van Grinsven, Little Chute, Stacy (Bruce) Vandenberg, Little Chute, Vicky (Fiance Gordy Vanden Bloomer) Meyerhofer, Kaukauna; step brothers: Douglas Ashauer, Sherwood, Todd (Julie) Ashauer, Kaukauna; Tim (Lori) Ashauer, Kaukauna; step sisters: Debra (Scott) Sommerhalder, Brillion, Ronda (David) Johnson, Kaukauna; Godfather, Pat Rochon, Kaukauna; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his mother, Barbara, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother Tom “Tommy” Meyerhofer; his step brother Tom Ashauer; his grandparents: Jim and Georgia Rochon, Evermond and Dorphia Frank; Godmother: Marlene Rochon, as well as aunts and uncles.

Funeral Liturgy for Jimmy will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, December 26, 2008 at St. Katharine Drexel Parish – St. Mary's Site (119 W. Seventh Street) with Father Jerry Pastors officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 1:00 P.M. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff on the Oncology Unit, 3rd floor, at Appleton Medical Center, and all of his loyal friends for being there for Jim.
