Age 74, died suddenly on Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center, Neenah. James was born on August 17, 1928, in Appleton to the late James F. and Nila (Schmidt) Kamba. He married Marian Korth on June 25, 1949, in Appleton. James enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, computers and was an active homebuilder. He was employed at James River Corporation for over 37 years, retiring in 1984. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Marian; his daughter, Kim (William) Merholtz, Green Bay; his grandson, Ryan Kamba, Chilton; his daughter-in-law, Kathy Kamba, Neenah; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven in 1998; his half-brother, Jack Seelow; his two half-sisters, Eleanor Forster and Viola Francek; and his brother Bob Kamba. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2003, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, Appleton, with Rev. Gary Nokleberg officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. A memorial has been established to benefit the American Diabetes Association.
