James Johnson, age 72, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2007. Jim was born in Kaukauna on November 2, 1934, son of the late Elmer and Martha (Schmidli) Johnson. He served the United States Army for two years, and on June 27, 1957, married the former Eileen DeBruin in Kaukauna. Jim was employed by Thilmany Pulp and Paper in Kaukauna for 44 years.

Jim is survived by his wife, Eileen Johnson; daughter: Debra (Dan) Kolodzeske of Superior and their children Kristin (Brandt) Charles, Heather Kolodzeske, Emily (Timothy) Opacich, and Daniel St. John; his son: Kevin (Terri) Johnson of Combined Locks and their children Amanda and Joshua; three great-grandchildren: Brett and Hailey Charles and Austin Cabrera; two sisters: Betty “Mutsy” Nieman of Appleton and Lillian “Sissy” Verstegen of Little Chute; four sisters-in-law: Jane Johnson of Appleton, Joan Johnson of Seymour, Jean DeBruin of Appleton, and Bernice ( Ben) Hahn of Neenah; and three brothers-in-law: Nick Van Eyck of Kaukauna, Louis Vosters of California, and Floyd (Karen) DeBruin of New London. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and infant daughter Eileen Marie, brothers Robert and Richard Johnson, sisters Arlene Van Eyck and Joyce Vosters, a sister-in-law Carol (Doug) Vandenberg, and brothers-in-law Stanley Verstegen, Orville Nieman, Francis “Fritz” (Carol) DeBruin, and Marvin DeBruin.

Memorial Services for Jim will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at the funeral home chapel with Fr. Jerry Pastors of St. Katharine Drexel Parish officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.
