James C. "Jim" Stigney

James Calvin Stigney, age 75, of Appleton, passed away on December 29, 2019 at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. James was born on April 24, 1944 at St. Joseph Hospital in Superior, Wisconsin to Archie Louis and Lydia Stigney. James was raised in Minong, Wisconsin. After his graduation he attended the Appleton School of Business, receiving his Associate of Arts Degree. He resumed his education at the University of Maine, Pulp and Paper Summer Institute in Paper Technology and then he attended the Secondary Fiber Course in Appleton. He also served his country as a member of the U.S. Army Reserves and was honorably discharged. On October 30, 1971 he married Marlene Kubisiak and through all of life’s ups and downs they remained friends and partners until he died.

James worked as a Salesman and Sales Manager, mostly in the paper industry his entire career. He was employed with the Armak Corporation, Tape Division . Later he was a Regional Sales Manager for BTG Inc of Decatur, Georgia. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Parish in Appleton where he served as Usher for 39 years.

James is survived by: Marlene Stigney of Appleton, son Bradley Stigney, daughter Elizabeth Stigney, and two grandchildren Maya and Luke Stigney as well as many other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Lola and brother Louis.

Memorial Services will be on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 11:00 am at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine Street, Appleton, Wisconsin. There will be a visitation at the church on Saturday from 9:00 am to 10:45 am. Interment will be in James’ home town of Minong.
