James Francis (Backhaus) Backus

James F. Backus (Backhaus) born June 1931 in Manitowoc Rapids, passed away Dec. 3, 2022, with his children at his side. James was an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church where he spent many years volunteering as head usher.
Preceded by Wife Darlene, Parent’s Joseph & Ida Backhaus. Two sons, two son-in law’s, four brothers & their spouses, four sister’s & their spouses.
Survived by Daughters LaVonne Frank (Gary), Carol Bowden (Steve), Ann Gehl (Rick), son Scott Backus (Julie). 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Extended family Bonnie Fischer and Dave Heindl. 
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, December 9, 2022 at 11:00am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna. There will be a visitation on Friday before Mass at church from 9:00am to 11:00am. Interment will be at Appleton Highland Memorial Park in Appleton.
