Age 85, died Saturday night, January 17, 2004. He was born August 26, 1918, to the late Anton M. and Laura E. (LeDuc) Olson, in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, graduated from Escanaba High School and from Lawrence University in 1940. James had been employed by International Shoe Company and by Schiedermayer Hardware. He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Joyce Geroux, Greensburg, PA; Barbara and Craig Blum, Portland, OR; eight grandchildren, Amy L. (David) Swarr, Anne M. Geroux, Michael T. (Sandra) Geroux, Shawn M. Earle, Jeffrey (Dawn) Donnick, Jennifer Donnick, Hans Smith and Erik Smith; five great grandchildren, Sam M. Earle, Elena M. Swarr, Sophia R. Swarr, Sammy D. Geroux and Daniella E. Swarr; a stepson, Michael (Chris) Donnick and a stepdaughter, Patricia Donnick. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence J. (Schiedermayer) Olson and his second wife, Eldora M. Olson. The funeral liturgy for James will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 21, 2004, at ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 North McDonald Street, with Father Gerald R. Falk officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 am, Wednesday, until the time of the mass.
