Age 93, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2002 at the Hospice at Cherry Meadows. He was born on March 10, 1909 in Appleton the son of the late Nicholas and Marcia (Clark) Ellenbecker. On June 8, 1938 he married Leona Sachs, and celebrated 63 years together. They owned and operated a dairy farm in the Greenville area for many years. They moved to Dale in 1959 and have lived there since. He was a long time member of First English Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his beloved wife Leona of Dale, his daughter Genevieve (Jack) Ghawaly of Metairie, Louisiana; his two sons Marvin Ellenbecker of Santa Ana, California and Larry (Ellen) Ellenbecker of Winneconne; five grandchildren: John (Jackie) Ghawaly, and Jessica (Kevin) Schriber all of Metairie, Louisiana; James (Susan) Ghawaly of Kenner, Louisiana; Tammy Lingnofski and Tracy Ellenbecker both of Winneconne; eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters Louise (David) Zehner and Florence (Florian) Becher.

The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at 11:00 AM at First English Lutheran Church, 326 East North Street. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.

The family thanks Dr. Mark Hallett and his nursing staff, physicians and staff at Appleton Medical Center, Thedacare at Home, and Kobussen Bus Service. Special thanks to the nurses and the staff at the Hospice at Cherry Meadows for their care and support.
