Irene M. Byrne, age 95, of Freedom, died Monday evening, September 19, 2005. She was born November 18, 1909, to the late John and Katherine (Wichmann) Byrne, in the town of Freedom, where she was a resident all of her life. Irene loved the outdoors and walking. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom. She is survived by a niece, Ann Kerscher, Racine; three nephews, Richard Byrne, Appleton; John (Debbie) Byrne, Racine; James Byrne, Bangkok, Thailand; a goddaughter, Mary Jo Walsh; seven great nieces and nephews; five great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Thomas and John Byrne and two sisters, Sister Faustine and Sister Mary. Funeral services for Irene will be held at 7:00 pm, Thursday (Tonight), September 22, 2005, at the funeral home, with Deacon Donald Newhouse officiating. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Freedom. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 7 on Thursday, until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
