Ida ''Bette'' E. Burmeister

May 18, 1926 — October 21, 2001

Age 75, passed away at her home unexpectedly on Sunday, October 21, 2001. Bette was born on May 18, 1926 in Perkins, MI, the daughter of Louis and Gladys Haefs. Bette later married Vilas Burmeister in Minneapolis, MN and enjoyed 47 wonderful years together before he preceded her in death. Bette enjoyed golfing, bowling, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Bette is survived by her three children, Bruce (Diane), Gary and Cathy (Tim) Stoffel. Eight grandchildren, Jackie and Jared Stoffel, Kristin and Betsy, Josh, Jake, Kari and Katie Burmeister. One brother, Roland (LuAnn) Haefs, one sister, Gloria Johnson and mother-in-law, Josephine Burmeister. Also survived by nieces,n nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vilas, her parents, father-in-law, Roy Burmeister, three grandchildren, Jessica Stoffel, Jeremy and Abigail Burmeister.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2001 at ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH 912 North Oneida Street at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Nathan Gauerke officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday directly at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
