Age 67, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at Albuquerque, New Mexico while on vacation with his wife Constance and best friend Ed Harbeck. He graduated from Chilton High School and retired from Giddings and Lewis in 1999. He is survived by his wife Constance, his sister Delores Pethan of Chilton, WI; his three children: his only son Dan Breckheimer and his wife Laura from Summit Lake, WI, his daughter Laurie Breckheimer and a special friend Dennis in Baraboo, WI, his daughter Connie Pownell of Minocqua, WI. Hooks had 4 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Veronica Breckheimer from Stockbridge, WI; a daughter Mary Sue, a granddaughter Sarah Kay, and one grandson Kaden. His given name was Hugo which most of his friends did not know. He was well known as HOOKS. He enjoyed spending time on his computer, and working in his garage on wood projects. He also enjoyed model airplanes, and other projects he had going in his basement work shop. He enjoyed watching Nascar races and spending time with his friends. He also loved and enjoyed his Dalmatian BUD, the marshmallow bandit. A BETTER MAN WILL NEVER BE FOUND!
A memorial service for Hooks will be conducted on Monday, March 10, 2003 at 5:00 PM at the Wichmann Funeral Home with Deacon Maury Reed officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 PM until the time of the services. A memorial fund is being established.
