After a lengthy illness, Herbert E. Neeck was born to Eternal Life on December 23, 2021, as his Savior had promised him.  Herbert was born at home in Shawano on May 5, 1938, to Herbert F. and Mildred A (Pick) Neeck.  He was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran church in Shawano and he graduated from St. James Lutheran Grace School in 1954 and Shawano High School in 1957.

He served his country for three years in the Army, being stationed in Germany from 1959 through 1962.  After an honorable discharge, he attended the University of Wisconsin – River Falls, graduating with a BS and MS in Secondary Education.

His many occupations in life included being a telegraph operator for the SOO Line Railroad, a High School Social Studies and Driver’s Education Teacher, a Real Estate and Insurance Agent, and retiring at 65 as a Financial Counselor.

His many hobbies included reading the Bible and many other religious materials, singing with McDowell Male Chorus for thirty-seven years, traveling the world, fishing on Lake Winnebago and in Lake Michigan, watching football and basketball games, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He is now singing with heaven’s Angelic Choir, praising his Savior forever.

Herb is survived by his children: Timothy Neeck of Grafton, Wisconsin and Michelle Neeck (Tim) Lappen of Appleton and their mother: Karen Mae, as well as two grandchildren: Connor Neeck and Chloe Lappen.  He is also survived by his present wife: Ruth Bock Neeck and her children: David Bock of Chicago and Jonathan Bock, MD of Wauwatosa and their families.  He is further survived by his younger brother: William A. Neeck of Jacksonville, Florida and his family, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Herbert was greeted in Eternal Life by his Savior, his parents, two older sisters: Geraldine Neeck and Mildred (Laural) Bartlett, and a younger brother, John J. Neeck.  In addition, he will greet Ruth’s first husband, Walter E. Bock, and son Jeffrey M. Bock.

It was Herbert’s wish that none of his family or friends would falter from God’s word, but continue to hold fast to God’s promise of everlasting life together in heaven.  “Be though faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.”  – Rev. 2:20 KJV.
